GrassRoots Farming Co.

We're taking on the biggest challenge of our generation. To make food and farming part of the solution to climate change, not part of the problem. On one hand we work with farmers to become Certified Regenerative, low carbon farms. On the other we work with pioneering restaurants, butchers and farm shops to redesign their meat sourcing. Then we join the whole lot up into one supply chain working together towards one vision... passing on our planet in better health than we found it.

WE'RE CURRENTLY OFFERING PREMIUM FIXED-PRICE, LONG-TERM CONTRACTS TO FARMERS FINISHING UPWARDS OF 150 HEAD OF DAIRY X NATIVE BEEF. IF THAT'S YOU, PLEASE GET IN TOUCH!

HOW IT WORKS. FARMING.

CERTIFIED & AUDITED

All the farmers that we buy from are independently audited to Certified Regenerative standards. They also have bespoke plans to help them on their journey to reducing their carbon footprint. We don't just make claims, we back them up.

FAMILY FARMS

We're passionate about protecting the rural fabric of family farms. Some of whom produce the finest food on the planet and are fiercely proud of what they do. We help them find a voice and a market.

CONTRACTS

We recognise the importance of certainty when planning a farm system. Especially when it takes 24 months to rear a beef animal. Therefore we offer long term fixed price contracts that give farmers the confidence to invest.

WHAT MAKES OUR FARMERS DIFFERENT

Many of our farmers start working with us because they are hungry to change the way they farm, but find themselves unable to. They lack the profitability, market-confidence or peer-support needed to risk trying new approaches. But they know a new approach is what's needed.

The new approach that we implement with our farmers is often called Regenerative Farming. And before we enter contracts to buy from them, they become Certified Regenerative. But we don't get hung up on the word Regenerative. What we really care about is a mindset of constant improvement to biodiversity gain, ecological health, animal welfare, greenhouse gas reduction, financial stability and employee wellbeing. We care that, as a food and farming industry, claims and actions are backed up by science along with independent checks and audits.

Our farmers work with us because we offer them multi-year, fixed price contracts that give them the certainty to invest in making a change to the way they farm. Our contracts are priced above the market average to reward them for caretaking the environment. They also get direct relationships with the restaurants and butchers cooking and selling their hard work.

HOW IT WORKS. FOOD.

POSTIVELY GOOD

Is environmentally sustainable beef possible? With us, yes. In fact it can be more than sustainable, it can be positively good for the planet! And it's audited so you can confidently tell your customers.

TRACEABLE

We're passionate about protecting the rural fabric of family farms. Some of whom produce the finest food on the planet and are fiercely proud of what they do. We help them find a voice and a market.

GENUINE

We believe the term "regenerative" extends beyond farming into how you do business. Gone are the days of Mad Men egos. You will always find us honest, humble and genuine partners, working together for a shared and just cause.

THE FOUNDERS

GrassRoots was founded by farmers who wanted to stand-up for all the good that farmers can do, and help them do more of it. We recognised the need to connect with strong brands with brave leaders. Brands willing to take their customers on a journey to understand the power that good farming has to heal our planet. By working together, and not sitting on the sidelines, we're taking on the challenge of our generation.
